What You’ll Do:

• Sell high-quality, environmentally-conscious garments and locally-made and sourced gifts
• Operate the POS system and handle cash/credit transactions
• Keep displays looking their best & ensure the store and stock areas are clean and organized
• Receive, process, and organize merchandise
• Maintain an atmosphere of excellent service in a hub for joyful styling and inclusive fashion

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift/carry up to 44 lbs
• Ability to perform basic physical moves such as kneeling, reaching, crouching, bending, and twisting
• Prior boutique retail experience preferred
• Availability to work weekend and evening shifts
• Ability to work holidays/ the holiday season, including Black Friday and the weeks leading up to and after Christmas, including our annual Winter Windows event (November 6)

Job Responsibilities:

Retail Sales:

• Achieve sales targets with a focus on guest satisfaction, maximizing each ticket and sales opportunity with a “team sales” ethos
• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming, assisting, and advising guests, as well as addressing any complaints in a professional manner
• Contribute to a warm, engaged, and respectful shopping and work culture
• Operate the POS system and accurately check out customers. Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions and prepare purchases to be presented as a gift when requested
• Foster our excellent reputation by providing experiences that support word-of-mouth advertising and maintain our standing in the community as a good neighbor
• Maintain knowledge of product and operational updates via Planet Access’ Microsoft Teams and as otherwise directed by Supervisor
• Execute opening and closing procedures thoroughly and accurately, including cash reconciliation, cleaning, display maintenance, and closing procedures that ensure merchandise safety
• Gain sufficient product knowledge to educate and advise customers

Merchandise and Inventory Management:

• Maintain neat and orderly merchandise displays throughout shift
• Replenish and maintain stock on the sales floor throughout shift
• Process shipments
• Maintain organization of merchandise, store supplies, and break areas
• Maintain accurate inventory through designated programs and procedures, including participating in inventory counts

Cleanliness and Order:

• Maintain the physical environment and grounds according to Search standards for cleanliness and order on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate knowledge and consistent usage of the proper cleaning products and materials for assigned cleaning tasks.
• Demonstrate respect for site/program materials and furnishings.
• Administrative/Professional:
• Support the mission statement and agency values of Search.
• Attend staff meetings as required
• Present yourself in a professional manner as a representative of Search to various stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with personnel policies as stated in the employee handbook.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the Corporate Compliance policy, including the employee work rules and state/federal regulations related to services provided by Search.
• Knowledge of store POS system and Microsoft programs.
• Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
