Learn MoreNeurodiVERSED 2025 celebrates Anthony and the power of inclusion, highlighting community, acceptance, and the impact of embracing neurodiversity.

Every March during National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM), Search launches NeurodiVERSED, an annual campaign dedicated to amplifying the voices of neurodivergent people. This initiative highlights their talents, contributions and lived experiences while challenging misconceptions about mental health and intellectual disabilities.
This year, our NeurodiVERSED video series focuses on Anthony, an artist, advocate and athlete whose story embodies the strength and creativity within the neurodiverse community. Through his series, the campaign continues its mission of redefining the narrative surrounding neurodiversity. Too often, intellectual and developmental disabilities are framed as obstacles rather than integral parts of a person’s identity. By providing a platform for self-advocates like Anthony, NeurodiVERSED addresses stigma and celebrates the unique perspectives neurodivergent people bring to their communities.
Anthony is a talented visual artist who uses bold colors and diverse mediums to bring his perspective to life. Through Search Inc.’s Visibility Arts program, he has showcased his work while sharing his techniques with fellow artists and the community. Beyond his art, Anthony is a dedicated athlete who trains weekly with a basketball coach through the Chicago Park District and competes in the Special Olympics. With a passion for sports and a dream of one day performing at the Super Bowl, he thrives on pushing his limits and inspiring others.
As a Disability Awareness Player, Anthony also educates businesses, schools and community groups on disability-aware customer service and employment practices through our Disability Awareness Training. His advocacy helps build more inclusive environments and demonstrates that education is a powerful tool for change.
Neurodivergent people bring valuable perspectives, skills and creativity to their communities, yet many still face barriers to employment, education and social inclusion. Society often underestimates their potential instead of providing the necessary tools, accommodations and support to help them succeed. True inclusion requires action, ensuring representation in decision-making spaces, investing in community support and creating opportunities for meaningful participation.
As part of this commitment, Search Inc. is hosting a special NeurodiVERSED event at Planet Access located at 4727 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago on March 27 at 6 p.m. The event will feature artwork from Visibility Artists at Search as well. Attendees will have the opportunity to support these artists through purchases at Planet Access, furthering the mission of inclusion and self-advocacy.
Anthony’s story is a testament to the power of opportunity and the importance of belonging. NeurodiVERSED is not just about awareness; it is about changing conversations, shifting perceptions and ensuring that people with neurodiversity are valued and celebrated in every space.
